EN36C
EQUIVALENT / AKA
655M13 / 659M15 (BS 970) | 15NiCr13 / 14NiCr14 (DIN) | 1.5752 (Werkstoff) | Close to AISI 3415 / 3310 (nickel-chrome family) | 15Ni4Cr1 (IS 4432) | High nickel case hardening steel
EN36C is a high nickel-chromium case hardening (carburising) steel with a low carbon core. The high nickel content, typically 3.0-3.75%, combined with chromium and a small molybdenum addition gives exceptional core toughness and hardenability, so heavy sections can be carburised and hardened to a very hard, wear resistant case of around 58-62 HRC over a tough, shock resistant core. It is the preferred grade where fatigue loading, impact and deep case depth are all required. Steel type: case hardening (carburising) nickel-chrome alloy steel.
